Georges River College Hurstville Boys Campus warmly welcomes all International Students.
Each year, International Students across Years 7-10 study at our school. These students have the opportunity to participate in activities that will enhance their learning experiences. We encourage our International Students to perform to the best of their academic abilities as well as to develop their social, cultural and sporting skills. We have a supportive International Students Coordinator who looks after all International Students at the school as well as providing English as an Additional Language and/or Dialect (EAL/D) support. All our teachers assist students in achieving their goals and potential.
At GRC Hurstville Boys Campus we support our International Students by:
- Developing an understanding of each student and their cultural background
- Understanding the challenges faced by students, many of whom come to Australia without their families and friends
- Monitoring attendance to ensure safety and well-being
- Implementing practices and strategies to support the teaching and learning of International Students
- Developing a plan of action that includes the procedures of enrolment, attendance, buddy system and socialisation
