The study of history in both mandatory and elective courses equips students with the knowledge and skills essential for their future roles as active and informed citizens.  Stage 4 History has been designed to provide students with an understanding of world history from ancient times to the modern world and the basic skills required for the effective study of History. Students in Years 9 -10 undertake the study of Stage 5 History which provides students with the opportunity to learn about Australian History since 1901 and the development of Australia as a nation. All student learning is supported with fieldwork and site studies such as museums and archaeological sites, which assist students to further develop their research skills and apply knowledge learnt in the classroom environment

Elective History
This subject allows students in Years 9 and 10 with an interest in History, to pursue further studies in topics that interest them. Much of the programme allows for individual research and for students to enhance their skills.
